I need a volunteer (or several) to run registration for Rocketober this year as I have a scheduling conflict and can no longer attend the launch. This is a pretty well oiled process at this point. 1. November 7th is the Girl Scout STEM day event in Salem, we are in need of a couple volunteers to help the scouts make and fly straw rockets. Two of our usual volunteers (my wife and I) have a conflict and cannot attend this year, and our third normal volunteer lately may not be able to as well. I need to know in the next two weeks so I can schedule lunches with them, or we'll need to pull out at the last minute.

Garden Home BONUS launch, September 12th
by Chris Abbey 08 Sep '26

08 Sep '26

Begin forwarded message: From: STEFAN JONES via Members <members(a)oregonrocketry.org> Date: September 8, 2026 at 8:43:55 AM PDT To: Oregon members <members(a)oregonrocketry.org> Subject: [OROC Members] Garden Home BONUS launch, September 12th Reply-To: STEFAN JONES <stefan_jones(a)comcast.net> With Sheridan postponed until the beginning of October, we decided to have a BONUS Garden Home model rocket launch, 10 am - 1 pm, Saturday September 12th. Current forecast: Cool, 20% chance of rain. No or low wind. Setup at 9:30 am. As always, help appreciated for setup and tear-down. George Rachor will bring the pad and other gear. I'm bringing a couple of tables, my pop-up canopy, and a big bin of leftover models from the Silent Auction. I've been refurbishing and finishing these and will have a new batch to show off. I suggest bringing a canopy if you have one. As usual, we limit flights to 500' or under; this means A - B motors for modest sized kits. Please consult the launch crew before you fly staged or clustered flights. _______________________________________________ Members mailing list -- members(a)oregonrocketry.org To unsubscribe send an email to members-leave(a)oregonrocketry.org List info & management: https://mailman2.blastzone.org/postorius/lists/members.oregonrocketry.org Archives: https://mailman2.blastzone.org/hyperkitty/list/members.oregonrocketry.org/

September Members Meeting Tomorrow!
by Secretary 02 Sep '26

02 Sep '26

Greetings Fliers, Summer seems to be waning in a hurry, time is certainly flying by. This week snuck up on me, I'm sure I'm not alone. Tomorrow, Thursday the 3rd, is the monthly members meeting for SEPTEMBER already. (Odds are good it's TODAY by the time most of you will see this.) As usual, the teams meeting will open for socializing at about 7:00 pm when the first board member logs in and starts the meeting, and the official meeting will start at about 7:30 pm Pacific. The link is the same one we've been using all year, and is included below in case you need it again. The agenda is subject to additions, but is currently: 1. Welcome new members 2. Officer's reports 1. Treasurer 2. Secretary 3. Promotions Director 4. Equipment Manager 5. Launch Director 6. Range Safety 7. Tripoli Prefecture 8. NAR Section 3. Launch reports 1. Garden Home 2. School team reports 4. Launch planning 1. 2027 Calendar 2. Filible's Folly 3. NSLW27 5. New Business 6. Closing Finally, here are the minutes of last month's meeting for those that were not able to attend: [cid:3aa18998-bbfc-4e22-8fea-4a0d66acb0d3]OROC_Members_Meeting_August.docx<https://oregonrocketry-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/cabbey_bod_oregonro…> Microsoft co-pilot helped draft those, then I pasted in the official treasurer's report direct from Gene instead of the laughably inaccurate transcription that is always generated... and reviewed the rest of the notes. Additional Garden Home launch scheduled
by Chris Abbey 18 Aug '26

18 Aug '26

Howdy Flyers, Due to the postponement of Filible's Folly out of September and into October, we're adding in a Garden Home launch for September that would normally not have happened since we don't do Garden Home in the same month as Filible's Folly. This is an ADDITIVE launch, and does not replace the already scheduled October Garden home launch on the 10th. As per normal scheduling, it' will be the second Saturday, which is the 12th. Thanks to Stefan and George for running the Garden Home launches, and all the other members who come out and help introduce the sport to new flyers... we usually need a few extra hands, so if you can join us, bring a model and some B or smaller motors and come on out! Cheers, Chris OROC Secretary

There were many flights flown for each contest, however I did not receive the final apogee stats for many, and I know that some of those which I am missing the apogee stat for were quite successful flights.
